2. General information on data processing

I only process personal data of users of this website to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website along with my content and services. Personal data is generally only processed with the user's consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, or, where consent could not be obtained and processing is permitted by law, on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR.

You may revoke any consent given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). The lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the revocation remains unaffected.

For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" in your browser's address bar.

Providing your data is neither required by law nor by contract, and you are under no obligation to provide it. The data listed in section 4 is technically unavoidable when the website is accessed; without it, no connection can be established. If you do not contact me by email, you suffer no disadvantage — I simply cannot answer your enquiry.

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

Vercel processes, on my behalf, all data that arises when visiting this website, in particular the server log files described in section 4. This is based on a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in a secure and reliable provision of this website.

Delivery takes place via a global content delivery network, meaning processing may also occur in the USA. Vercel Inc. has been certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework since June 4, 2024. Standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR are additionally in place as a safeguard for an adequate level of data protection. Their wording is published in EU Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914 and can be viewed there: eur-lex.europa.eu.

4. Provision of the website and creation of server log files

When you access this website, information is automatically collected in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits. It is collected both by the hosting provider and by the application itself. This data is:

• —Requested URL and HTTP method used
• —HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
• —Referrer URL
• —Browser type and version and operating system used (user agent)

This data is not merged with other data sources. This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of my website, as well as in ensuring system security.

Log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless they are needed for longer to investigate a specific security incident.

5. Fonts

This website loads no font files at all — neither from third-party servers nor from its own. Text is rendered exclusively in your operating system's default typeface. No connection to Google Fonts or comparable services is established at any point.

6. Cookies and tracking

This website does not use cookies for analytics, marketing or tracking purposes and does not integrate any web analytics tools, social media plug-ins or other third-party services that process personal data for these purposes.

A single cookie is set:

• —Name: lang
• —Purpose: stores the display language you selected, so the site appears in the same language on your next visit
• —Content: only the value “de” or “en” — no identifier, no usage profile
• —Lifetime: 365 days

The cookie is only set once you actively click the language switch, and it is strictly necessary to provide the service you expressly requested. Its storage therefore requires no consent under § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG — a cookie banner is not required. The legal basis for the subsequent processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in a working language selection. You can delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings; the site will then appear in English again.

7. Contact

When you contact me by email, the data you provide (your email address, and if applicable your name and phone number) is stored by me in order to answer your query. I delete the data arising in this context once storage is no longer necessary, or restrict processing if statutory retention obligations apply. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, insofar as your inquiry serves to initiate or perform a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

The email service for the address hi@julianjuelich.com is operated by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes the content and metadata of your message as a processor on my behalf, on servers within the European Union, on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. 8. Your rights as a data subject

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

I will then no longer process the affected data unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms.
